Our Board of Directors are a dedicated group of people and are the governing body for Children’s Truth Foundation. They are responsible for approving all financial situations from Budgets to Balance Sheets. All of our Board of Directors are volunteers.


Greg Simonsen received his Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications in 1982 from the University of Utah graduating Magna Cum Laude (Top 5%). In 1985, he graduated from the University of Utah College of Law where he was a Member of the University of Utah Law Review. Greg is a founding Partner of the Salt Lake City law firm of Fetzer, Simonsen, Booth and Jenkins where he concentrates his practice in land use, real estate and construction law. Prior to founding Fetzer, Simonsen, Booth and Jenkins, Greg was a Board Member and Partner in one of Utah’s largest law firms. In 2014 and 2015 Greg was designated a “Super Lawyer” for the mountain states area by Super Lawyers magazine. Greg is past Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Utah Transit Authority and past Chairman of the Planning Commission of West Jordan City. Greg is married and has 4 children and 9 grandchildren.


Jeffrey Welch earned BA and MA degrees from Brigham Young University, where he was a graduate research fellow and taught communications theory and mass media research methods as an adjunct faculty member. He also graduated from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah with an MBA.

With more than 20 years of business leadership experience, Jeff has worked at the executive level leading organizations with operating presences in North America, Western Europe and the Philippines. Jeff has a particular interest in developing economies and the unique challenges and opportunities found within these environments.

Jeff’s other non-profit interests include continuing education and business ethics. Prior to his work with Children's Truth Foundation, Jeff served for four years as a board director for the Marketing Research Institute International (MRII), and recently served as a judge for the University of Utah’s undergraduate business case ethics competition in association with the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative.

Currently, he is co-founder and president of Zylun Insights, a market research and consumer insights company. Jeff is married and has three wonderfully spirited children.


Kari L. Malkovich is the Director of Public Relations for McKell, Thompson, and Wise, Attorneys at Law.

She is the past president of the Women’s State Legislative Council of Utah and is the former Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Effective Advocacy, where she taught individuals and groups the importance of community outreach and effective communication with government and business leaders.

Kari has always been an active community leader. In addition to her work as a member of the Woodland Hills City Council, she currently serves as president of the Spanish Fork/Salem Chamber of Commerce.

She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Communications, with an emphasis in Public Relations. She is the mother of six children and grandmother to seven.
